Marques Houston - Clubbin

Marques Houston an RnB artist who is in close relation to Omarion. This video however differs from the previous videos i have analysed as it performance based as opposed to narrative based. The visuals are a reflection of the lyrics as they talking about being in a club. During various lyrics on screen image is used to portray it, for example Marques Houston is seen dancing with two women during the lyrics ' one on the front and one on the back'. The presence of beautiful women is a typical convention in RnB videos and this video achieves that. The clothing and accessories also typical of this genre as you see close up shots of Marques Houston showing off his earings which is highlighted by special effects that add a shine to the earings , and the colour co-ordinated clothes portray the the cultures fasion and interests. The women are wearing revelaing clothing as the dance in the dance in the club, which is typical of the RnB culture and features in many videos. As with many RnB videos the Main Artists are seen in differnt outfits throughout the video, which hieghtens the cultures interest in fasion and how it is constantly every changing.

There are also typical moments where the artist is seen singing alone as the directly address the audience as though telling a story, before cutting back to the narrative. The artist is also given a lot of screen time, as the video focuses on them and uses the other people to support thier image. The cutting rhythm is conststant with the tempo of the song wich is typical of an RnB video. The rhythm enhances the videos visuals and attributes to mood of the song. Fades are also used as well as straight cuts, its purpose is again to hieghten the flow of the song and variation between straight cuts and fades makes the video more entertaining.
